
Art Ursuline
Art I
Introduction to line, color, value, texture, shape, and space. These
elements will be organized to provide a variety of experiences in
basic level two and three level dimensional media.
Art II
This course will build on the elements learned in Art I. The Student
will experience drawing, two dimensional design, painting, and
printmaking.
Art III
This course is designed for the serious Art Student who desires a
challenging art experience. The Student will experience advanced
drawing, sculpture, advanced painting and ceramics. Students will
master the following media: charcoal, pastel, oil, acrylic, wire,
plaster, ceramic, and assemblage.
Independent Art
An independent tutorial under the direction of the Art teacher with
the intent of developing a collegiate portfolio
Photography
This course begins with an introduction to photographic techniques, focusing on
camera familiarity, composition , film, and photograph development, hand coloring,
and computer manipulation using Adobe Photoshop.
Art Appreciation
Art Appreciation is a comprehensive survey of prehistoric through Modern Art. At the end
of this class, the student should have a basic knowledge of major artworks, artists, and
periods as well as, an appreciation for the creative process.
Crafts
Through this course, students without prior art classes will have the opportunity to
experiment in art. Weaving, stained glass,cermaics, jewelry making and batik will be in
this course.
